Sako Quad and future variants

Sako rate the .22 Mag as their most potent calibre in the Quad range.
    http://www.sako.fi/sakoquad_features.php

They rate the .17HMR out to 150.

With the likelyhood of being able to licence several barrels on one action soon.
What would be a more suitable variant for Irish scenario?
    Rabbits, Foxes, Fallow, Sika, Red.

What would the best 4 combo design or 3 combo design be?
.243 .308 and 7mm/08? Or a different combinatuion that would all cycle in the same action?

    Could that be a winner?
Any SAKO Quad owners out there to give their opinion, Or Multy barrel owners ?

All the barrels would have to be of the same calibre, so the point is redundant, but I'd love a Mauser M03, personally. Would have it in .22-250, .25-06, .300 Win Mag and .375 H&H Mag or a custom barrel in .404 Jeffery. If you have it in four calibres it works out relatively reasonable as well. Any less and it looks very steep. Of course, you'd still need licences for each barrel, being different calibres.

AFAIK having licences for 4 differewnt calibres is/will be reasonably common in the not to distant future.

I have heard of a guy who has 2 different cal barrels for an AI, .308 and 7mm/08.
I have not spoken to him direct so I can't give too much detail.
The sako Quad has 2 different calibres and they are/will be legit soon or is AFAIK.
The concept I think would be very interesting as 1 scope and stock would do several calibres.
So one could get the best of both worlds.;)

So a four barrel varmint/Stalking rifle is not popular.
Maybe thats why Sako have not made one yet

Look at the ones available, and look at the prices, and the market-share (Blaser owns the loving fook out of it) and the chances of breaking into that seriously. It's not really a viable enterprise. A lot of people shooting Sauer 202s don't have them for the switch-barrel feature either, which is interesting.

I do like sauer and some Blaser.
The short action .308 and derivatives would be such an easy rifle to exchange barrels on IMHO in comparison to more complicated arrangements.
But this thread has died a death, I was very interested in the concept of exchaging barrels and having one perfect custom stock, hand made ergo perfect, shaped around a mould of my hand.

I have a few friends in the ergo design game so i may tap some of there skills to make the perfect rifle.

I think perhaps this is the end of this thread. Ah well, Coors light anyone?

i like the idea of a multi barrel rifle. the blazer as mentioned earlier is eating away in the back of my mind .223 and .308.

What the Public want, the Public get.
If one could have a foxer and stalker in the same stock action the only diff would be recoil and bullet drop.

It could work out a much cheaper way of someone to have to high class rounds for the price of a few hundred more than one high class rifle ;0

I myself could not see sako getting into the center fire exchange barrel market ,
Not when the likes of blaser , sauer and many others have the market tied up ,
Its a good idea one stock and a few calibers,
If thats what you would like then the blaser i would recommend ,
It is so easy and quick to change barrel and receiver , To except several case sizes,
