    Hi all,
not looking for medical advice as such, just any little tips on how to help a banjaxed hip heal for Monday...:(
Was out for my last run before the mini marathon on Monday yesterday & it felt a wee bit stiff midway through, no major pain, however by the time I finished and started walking again, it was really tight. Rested all of last night, long bath etc but it's nearly worse today!

Will be heading into the Doc's shortly, but really just looking for anecdotal pain relief stories from anyone who's had something similar, ie elevation/hot or cold baths/gels etc....anyone gone through something like this?

You can try deep heat but in fairness your doctor/physio be the one to sort you out.

You might miss out on your race but look too the future, better to get this fix now than ruin you later!

no diagnosis here, but I always feel like I have a banjaxed hip! Its actually that my gluteus maximus (ass) is in bits, so you need a deep, sore massage of the muscle. I got deed tissue needling done on it before (unbelievably sore but worked wonders). Not sure is it too late/close to Monday, but ITB exercises can also help. The ITB stretches from the glutes, so loosening/relieving tension will help all areas. The good thing about this area of pain is once I do any bit of exercise/massage on the area, it always works wonders!

Probably should get it sorted properly but not just now......

    Try Googling Glute/ITB exercises.
