I bought my son a van 5 mths ago the garage told me it was clean no crashes genuine milage and 1 owner. What he did not tell me was the van had been of the road for 2 yrs (reason im not sure ) that the van was previously a car this I found out through the tax office this thing is now Fuc**d
I contacted the NCA they said that because it was a commercial vehicle and had DOE it would not come under consumer rights my question is are there any other agency that can help with this problem or is there any legal avenues I could persue
any advice would be greatly appreciated

    But what is the problem?

Sorry I didnt explain it well
I got a service report from the garage that done a service on it in 2006 milage was 98000
same garage done doe in sept 2009 milage 101000 so I tought It was clocked
got records from motor tax office not taxed between 2007 /2009 thinking it might have been crashed?
says GAP witnessed by garda (what does that mean)
water pissed out of it it over heated and just stopped
had mechanic look at it he said cant find what is wrong he would have to go through it bit by bit (he also tought it might have been clocked and that the engine might be gone)
he said some thing about the timing belt being done at 73000 but there was something scratched out (not sure what he meant)
i know fu*k all about cars so
should he have informed me it was originaly a car?
should he have informed me if it was off the road and why?

    Any toughts on this
