Can anyone shed a bit of light on these doesnt appear to be a lot of info on these.

I know there are 3 european high trend and comfortline and basic obviously. The uk ones are slighty different also.

I have a comfortline which has the a/con, cd console, center console, electric all round, electric mirrors

    What are the other variations??

High line has leather and dual zone climate control. Auto lights and wipers.

Trendline doesn't get the chrome window surrounds, electric seat adjustment, rear electric windows, climate control, trip computer, alloy wheels and up unitl recently an armrest or leather steering wheel.

It does have a cd player and front electric windows.

I presume its the 05+ model. They were facelifted last year and the highline got front fogs parking sensors tyre pressure monitor and a few more bits

Im hijacking the thread a small bit now but their is a mountain of uk highlines for sale here all 09 2.0 tdi 110bhp with small miles on them. They are very under specced compared to a irish highline. Im just wondering where they are coming from and why there is so many of them. Here is one they are nearly all silver:confused::confused:

I don't know, but when I sold VW in the late 90s we went through a phase of selling quite a few new cars for export to the UK. Almost every single one I sold was a TDI 110 Variant in silver with side airbags and climate.

The 2.0Tdi 110bhp was the short lived BlueMotion engine which took over from the 1.9Tdi 105bhp before the 1.6Tdi 105bhp was introduced in Ireland. From the UK website it looks like they aren't offering the 1.6Tdi there

Shame as it has emissions almost as low as the 1.6, but much more usuable torque.

The Leather on the standard "Comfortline" seats looks sh1te. On the one linked you can see that the leather on the rear seats is already saggy and loose.

In Ireland, Leather has never been offered on those seats - it's only been available on the Sports Seats - which are standard in the Highline here.

We got leather retro fitted to a comfortline last year and it that looked crap too, even though everything else we've had done by the same guy was top notch. It wasn't a poor job, it's just that style of seat doesn't take the leather well at all.

I think the UK spec "Highline" model is basically an SE with aftermarket leather fitted by the UK distributor afaik. The aftermarket leather looks terrible and cheap imo.

The Highline model we get here is the proper Highline spec from the factory to my knowledge and is higher spec. Highline here originally came with half leather/half alcantara seats but recent spec upgrades to the Passat means the Highline now has full leather seats.

To be honest I have sat in an Irish Passat Highline and wasn't impressed with the quality of leather either. Found it quite soft wearing and had a glossy sheen compared to that in my S40.

Yes they go shiny after a lot of wear. But the uk highline has horrible seats and alloys. I suppose a lot of people wont know the difference and think they are getting the same thing... Btw i see our current highline has waaaay more extras than the uk highline plus. Anyway we can look forward to the new model later in the year:cool:

Anyone seen any pictures or info on the new Passat?

B6 (current model) is now out of production. There are still a good few coming in for stock but it's a case of you can have what is available rather than what you want.

If the interior photo in the first link is from the new car, there hasn't been any progress as it looks exactly the same as the current model.

Can't really see enough of the car to get a real idea of what it would look like, and if it doesn't debut until October we are going to be without a Passat for a good while.

Good news for Opel who should pick up a good few Insignia sales between now and next year before everyone goes mad for the new Passat.

They're pricing it in competition with the C-class and the 3series now? Epic fail on their part if they go ahead with that!

Looks alright, I would have to see it in person to judge!

Thats true allthough that picture seems to be of the cc interior. I will be ordering a tdi for the missus. I drove a insignia diesel and found them very noisy over the passat. Didnt like the very sloped windscreen either. I am after going way of topic now should have started a new thread.

The "new" model is a heavily facelifted version of the current model, similar it when the last generation got facelifted in 2001. Judging by the photos it looks very conservatively styled especially next to an Insignia. I suppose we will have to wait and see.
