    I believe it requires Android 2.1 or higher.

    is it easy to root ur fone?
    I dont wana lose my contacts and stuff can i back them up?
    whats the best rom?

    With the greatest of respect, if you're asking can you backup your contacts, maybe a custom rom and root of your HTC is a step too far for you.

    That aside, there's a really good tutorial on VillainROM here.

    For contact backups, I normally back mine up to Gmail.
