So we had a quality opener with Voltwad seing off Volt_2007 to progress on to face Flahavaj in the quaterfinal and the really tight Degag vs Campo match which saw Campo progress to another QF, This was followed by argueably the tie of the round when Waltersobcheck booked his place in the next round at Danger Dave's expense, then we found out the final first round winner as Dare 2 Defy took on Dieselqueen, with DQ coming out on top.

The first quaterfinal saw the clash of the co-champs but didnt quite live up to its potential but saw Cactus Col progress to the Semi-final Where it was later determined he would be joined by Voltwad as he overcame Flahavaj. At last the final Semi final spot went to Waltersobchek after his QF with Campo.

Then it was time for Semi-finals and first up was Cactus Col vs Voltwad in the tightest match yet which was eventually won by 1 vote by Cactus Col who will now face the winner of this matchup in the final!

    Simplified version of the rules:
I will post a topic and you have to post your response including why you made that choice within a given time limit (before the next match is scheduled to begin), take care while making your responses however as the other contestant can counter your arguement i.e pointing out possible flaws in what youve said.

*you can only counter an arguement three (for the semi) times so make sure your point is worth making. If someone's defense of their arguement isnt good it will count against them.

*You can use the same answer as your opponent if you wish i.e you agree with their choice however its hard to win a debate when your making the same points someone has already made

see the first few match ups or OP of the main thread for further details if any are needed

    Q. These days in the WWE factions are very much so a rareity with at most one per brand it seems. However if that was to change and a new faction was to be introduced to either brand who would you choose to make up this faction? what would tie these people together and why would you choose them over other alternatives? and finally what feuds/angles/etc could you see for this faction going forward.

again you can expand this any way you see fit, i.e talking about who the leader could be etc. and you can pick any group so if you wish you could reform one or introduce an already rumoured one but orihginality and feasability will obviously be something peoplee would think about before voting

    good luck.

    good luck fellas

For me personally this is a huge open ended question, with almost unlimited possibilities of combinations, and different superstar choice's. For example we have actually addressed this exact situation in the BWE recently, by introducing different Stables and Factions, and also focusing on the under-utilised talent currently in WWE. One of the solutions we all came to, was the introduction of Santino Marella as a 21st Century version of Bobby Heenan, and as Heenan had "The Family" Marella has "The Roman Empire".. Why the need to mention this? Well as i see it, currently WWE is also missing that manager role of long ago, which is just as missed and treasured by fans as Factions and indeed Tag Team's.

So with the introduction over... Here's my Faction...
Every faction needs a leader, a mouthpiece and focal point. A man/women who can get a reaction from the audience, whether its good or bad, the leader has to be the link that keep's the group together, if the leader is the Champion, its his faction-mates responsibility to keep the belt on him by any means necessary.. So there's only one man in the WWE who fit's this role for me,..He's "The Greatest in the World at What he Does" he's... Chris Jericho

    chris_jericho_682x4_577138a.jpg

Ok why Jericho? well Jericho is the perfect Heel in the WWE for a stable to be built around, he gets the reactions necessary from the WWE Universe, he's both hated and still respected, so logically the group will have to be of the same mould. Jericho has been a revelation in the last 3 years since his return from hiatus, he's accomplished everything possible in the WWE, he was the first Undisputed Champion, and is a 6 time World Champion, but indeed one of the few thing's he hasn't done in WWE is be in a faction (the WWF vs. Alliance doesn’t count:pac:) so this is another great way for him to continue his great run as a heel, whilst also keeping him fresh and relevant. Also with every good Faction, the group needs some less experienced members, and who better for them to feud with, when the group collapses than Jericho? The man has put over more young talent in the WWE, than the Undertaker, HHH and Shawn Michaels combined..

So on to the second member of the group and this is where i feel the most important position is filled up.. The main idea behind choosing these superstars, was that i wanted a group that can not only work the mic, but are also excellent technical wrestlers. There has been a massive void in WWE without Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle from a purely wrestling standpoint. And this group will be the nucleus of the technical style of Wrestling

So on to my second pick.. A man greatly underutilised by WWE, a tremendous heel, a loveable face, an instant classic.. Captain Charisma himself Christian..

    Christian-debuts-on-ECW-110209b.jpg

Why Christian? Well to be perfectly honest, the guy is possibly the unluckiest superstar currently in WWE when it comes to pushes, whether its backstage politics, him showing up in TNA or just Vince not seeing him as marketable.. Christian is without doubt one of the best all round performers in WWE. And his tremendous run as ECW champion proved Christian has what it take's to be in the Main Event, So why align him with Jericho? Well there’s a great possibly for conflict between the 2 Canadians in the long term over group leadership and in the short term its a great way for Christian to be seen on the same level as Jericho, and the eventual feud between the 2 would be great. Also this could finally be the spark that ignites Christian in the eyes of WWE management, and he could finally win one of the main titles on either Raw or Smackdown

Ok the next two performers will be the back bone of the group, all my favourite Factions, Evolution, the Four Horsemen, the Dangerous Alliance and The New Hart Foundation all had great Tag Teams at the core of the group, and these 2 men potentially would go down with some of those Tag Teams as the greatest ever.. the next 2 men i would pick would be..

    bryan-danielson-2.jpgregal.jpg

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and William Regal.. This for me makes so much sense. Regal trained Dragon, gave him is Maroon colours as a thank you for being Regal's training partner after a long absence from injury, and both men obviously have great respect for each other. With Regal this also gives the group another great performer and indeed option on the stick..Also gives another great underused performer some well earned air time. This could also be an interesting situation for the 2 men, in the long term as they could be part of the group, but also they could completely stay out of the BS that would no doubt come with being affiliated with Jericho. Regal/Danielson could just concentrate on winning matches, and the Tag Belts. I also see Danielson/Regal being very much tweeners, and perhaps Danielson being more face than Regal, as the mentor almost forces his protégé to do Jericho's dirty work.. But over time as the group breaks up Danielson could be the dark horse of the group and could eventually start pushing Jericho in that upper Main Event spot..
The final spot is an important one in this faction. Every great Faction needs muscle. A hard man to do the dirty work. Arn Anderson, Dave Batista, Kevin Nash. All great big men in factions. So for me this is another logical choice as one man stands out to me.

    Wade+Barrett.jpg

Wade Barrett. Firstly him and Jericho are already connected because of him in NXT and as indeed the champion of NXT Barrett now has a spot on the roster so what better way to use him than as Jericho's shadow almost. The man who has Jericho's back no matter what. In the long term its a great way for Barrett to get over by association, and to be seen as a potential big deal, From what I’ve seen of Wade Barrett so far the guy definitely has some skill’s on the microphone and with the chance of being in a group, with Jericho, Christian, Regal, and Danielson, it would no doubt help him get even better.

Now what would i call this group?.. "The Ango-Can-Am Coalition" or just "The Coalition"

This group in my honest opinion is not beyond the realms of possibility, or even logic as all 5 men have history in some shape or another, Jericho-Christian, Christian and Regal from the Un-Americans, Regal and Dragon, and Jericho and Barrett, so this group all have logical links to each other.
Firstly i would have them feud with what other stables WWE have at the time the SES being the most logical, or else have them fued with whoever's WWE champion at the time, so someone like Cena or Orton..But in the long term WWE could definitely build a brand whether its Raw or Smackdown around this group.
