Can someone please tell me is it possible to record two things at the same time on a UPC box?

I'm looking at my planner and I have two things set to record at the same time this evening and there is no warning, all looks okay, but two things set to record at the same time tomorrow evening and there is an overlap warning?? I definitely don't have anything else recording at the same time as those two items so wondering what's going on??

I'm new to UPC from Sky so still getting used to it... :o

It is possible to record two things at once, but the box has to be in standby mode to do it, i.e. you can't watch either of the programs, or any otehr channel at the same time.

There is a possibility that the box isn't displaying a conflict for the first pair of recordings because you chose to record the whole series for one or both of them, so it may well have spotted a repeat for one of them later on in the day/week and has scheduled that in.

Thanks for the reply, I feel like a bit of a twat as I realised one of the recordings from today was for next week not today - they don't display the date and I stupidly thought it was displaying the recordings in alphabetical order - doh!

That's very clever about finding a later recording during the week, I didn't realise series link would do that.

Question - if you have two recordings set, you say you can't watch TV but is it possible to watch an older recording while recording two programs? I used to be able to do that with Sky...

I ordered Sky+ again last night and should have it in this day week!

Rang UPC to downgrade my TV pack and guess what........... They have not been available since Friday evening and won't be available until 9am tomorrow. Sky are available 24/7

Wish I had the option to go back to Sky but just moved into an apartment building and no dishes allowed... will just have to deal with it!

Discovered a sort of workaround to not being able to record two things at the same time! If you're recording something on one channel you can still pause on another channel - I know that may sound obvious but I was delighted when I realised :D It's obviously limited but handy for me if I'm doing something around the house and don't wanna have to leave the box off for the whole duration of both programs, so I just pause whatever I actually wanna watch today and then come back to it when I'm ready.

Just thought it might be a handy tip for someone... :)
