So it all starts tomorrow night lads, looking forward to this tournament as you never know what could happen as there is always loads of shocks.

Order of play can be found here:
    http://www.pdc.tv/page/UKOpenDetail/0,,10180~2062577,00.html

Hopefully Willie O' Connor can do well and get through a few rounds. Would be great to see him impress on the TV.

I'm gonna have a small punt on Colin Lloyd. He is right back in form and playing great stuff on the floor. He is due a good run in a tournament as well.

Saying that anyone except Taylor or Wade will do me :)

Looking forward to the FA Cup of darts!

Paul Nicholson @ 66/1 for me, might have a bet on Lloyd aswell!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭dartbhoy

I reckon John Part could do well in this tournament. Colin Lloyd could be a dark horse here,he's been playing well recently. The UK Open is a great tournament and any player could reach the final with a kind draw. Barrie Bates,Van Der Voort and Gary Mawson are just 3 players who have reached the final before. Best of luck to William O'Connor,Mick McGowan and Brendan Dolan.

Not much talk these days of gary anderson.my summing up months ago has turned out to be true biggest bottler in the game Will never win major title till he gets some bottle. (so im going to back him now because this will no doubt come back to haunt me).

20/1 for him to win, not the best odds but he's due a good performance some day!

Yup... And considering he beat Taylor in possibly the best game seen on tv (for me anyway) i think he has shown he has bottle...I will agree that he lacks self confodence...even when speaking to him u can see this....

But like u, iv backed him, really think if there is 1 comp on the calander he can win it is this 1

this first game is a bit of a slog, feel sorry for the young lad, he's probably an excellent player but making his t.v. debut way too soon.

He's 4-4 against Blundell, he was 4-1 up, not looking good!

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,326 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

What happened to Burnett? Think the old lack of confidence got him again. Great finish by Blundell to win it though.

There is an awful lot of young lads coming through, 4 very young lads through so far. Great to see them doing well.

Hurry up and get Willie on!

Pure and utter class from Willie so far. What a way to make your TV debut. Seems as if he is making a name for himself on the circuit as the Sky commentators are raving about him.

Great to see an Irish dart player really doing well on the TV.

He can be proud of that start, hopefully he can beat Mark Frost now and get in the draw to face the big boys.

    Hes 1-0 up

McGowan throwing it away against Mardle by missing doubles. He is great until he gets to 200 down where he goes to pieces. 4-1 down so not looking good.

Mardle has the oddest throw imo... and he pulls the dart so often

No, he was beaten in the final by Aodhagan O'Neill.

    2-1 up now.

MickMcGowan is wasting too many change, his set up shots from 250-150 are terrible throwing tons of 45's where as his first 9 darts are far better than Mardles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,007 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

    where is Van Barneveld

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭dartbhoy

Barneveld didn't qualify,he only played in 1 of the qualifying tournaments and a player must play in at least 3 out of the 8 in order to qualify. Good draw for Willie O'Connor. John Part v Mark Walsh and Gary Anderson v Michael Van Gerwen should be 2 very interesting games.
