    Hi all,

I'm starting a business but have little capital to invest in the business.
I will be advertising my services on signage, ads and flyers ect.
My problem is that on these advertismnets i will have to put my mobile phone number on them as i have no access to a phone line.

Does anyone agree that this would be unprofessional, or a turn off for potential customers, to see only a mobile phone number on my adverts?

Can anyone suggest ways around this which would be not too costly?
I would love to have a 01 number which would divert calls to my mobile number. So customers would see my adverts as being legit and not an unprofessional operation.

    Thanks,

    Gav

    Hi

Depending on what type of business you are in, it can sometimes put off customers as it shows that perhaps you are just starting off, or cannot be contacted if things go wrong.

You could maybe use a virtual office to get the use of a land line.

But if you are trying to keep costs down you will have to make a decision on the amount of clients you will lose verses the cost factor.

Hope this helps and good luck

    Kind regards

Get something a VOIP account (Skype, Blueface etc), get an 01 number from them and redirect the calls to your mobile :)

    Thanks to both of you,

the voip inerests me, but i dont know anything about voip.
So should i just ring blueface or skype? and ask them for that?
How does voip work?...how can they issue me witha number like that?

Any idea of how much that would cost per month?

If you're in the Dublin area, skype will give you a Dublin number. It's straightforward enough, I've used an 076 number with them when living outside dublin but on 01 number would be much better. You can use it to forward calls to your mobile for around 16c/min

Blueface basically use your existing broadband to provide you with a phone service without needing land line rental.
VOIP uses the internet instead of regular phonelines. You would get a landline phone number off blueface and a handset and be able to use it like a regular phone but with cheaper rates. You can also then forward calls to your mobile or another phone or get additional numbers if you wanted a number for the sales team for example all on the one internet line. They dont provide broadband though, but the phone service to use on it.

connectit also do a similar-ish service. They can do IVR recording, voicemail, forward calls to your landline or mobile and all sorts of things. Try our number on 01 529 2277 to get an idea of what you can do. it's

    Antoin.
