This Guatemala hole LOOKS like a great opportunity within which to sink a conspiracy theory?



Possibilities?

• UFO fires weapon from outer space as a warning shot of the forthcoming 2012 Maya world doom prediction, but Guatemala government covers it up, claiming that there was an air pocket below earth that failed after too much water seepage and erosion?

Officials initially said the storm was to blame, but now say they will carry out further studies to determine the exact cause, as a sinkhole appeared in the same area in 2007.

How about this CT? When Ronny Ray Gun was US president, he was for developing Star Wars tech, but did not get Congressional funding, which did not stop him. I think a realistic explanation is that either an underground storm water drain broke and eroded the earth, maybe over months?, then the storm hit and with the volume of rain falling speeded up the erosion with clumps of earth falling in and being washed away, creating a funnel first then the erosion straightened off the closer it got to the surface, they reckon the bottom is 100ft deep.

Or same as above but with a natural stream/river or underground lake instead of floodwater drain running under the ground, I think this is more realistic as a drain would have to be buried a few hundred feet below ground for such a hole to form and I can't see any reason to bury a continuous drain so far below ground, so I would assume an undergrond river eroding the earth below Guatamala, and according to google earth the area of the 2007 sinkhole is 4,800ft above sea level and is in the same area as the new hole, then The Middle America Trench aint too far away downhill which could play its part as it is the boundry between 6 tectonic plates also.

Another thought I had was that all the oil drilling in that (general) area, the oil spill not far away on a global scale are leaving voids in the natural earth that gravity will fill, leaving other voids to be filled leaving other voids zigzagging their way to the surface like a series of staggered eggtimers, so while its amazing, its explainable.

I would go with any or all of the three points mentioned. One thing is for certain, the situation is not going to improve. Certainly not with rising water levels. Perhaps whole cities could disappear. It has happened in the past, weather or not this technique or "natural occurance" has been used in the disappearance of cities before, or not, it is hard to know or get proof of. I suppose it's just another anomaly we'll just have to brush off as a freak occurrence. It doesn't mean anything :rolleyes:

A natural explanation may have merit, but lacks the excitement of a conspiracy theory. Life without craic is boring!

How about this CT? The oil corporations have been pumping out oil without replacing it with equally dense liquids (they sometimes replace oil with salt water off the coast of California). Water has filled the void, either intentionally being pumped in place of the oil by the corporations, and/or through water table seepage. Liquidfaction occurs after time and the ground gives way to a sink hole. Of course, Big Oil does not want to be given the blame, or lose profits related law suits by damaged parties, so they continue to circulate rumours that the event is mystifying and an unexplained natural occurrence?

It's no coincidence that the hole came about not long after Desmond turned the light off by removing the stone from pool in the heart of the island. This, in my view, caused the electromagnetic energy not to well out in a glorious light filled glow, but to actually back up and move in the opposite direction. At that moment the island's location at that point in time and space was roughly at the other side of the world opposite to Guatamala, and so the electromagnetic energy caused a hole to be burned through the earth which resulted in the sinkhole.

Jack, if you remember, managed to get himself back down to the heart of the island after killing the man in black, and placed the stopper stone back in the pool which caused the light to shine forth and the water to run again. We can safely assume that the electromagnetic energy didn't actually burn through to the surface, that the action of Jack managed to stop the energy before it burned through far enough to be detected by satellites/planes.
