Does anyone know the current state of Caprica? I've spent a bit of time online but can't find anything definitive. I started watching the series on Sky (starting with the pilot) but it then ended abruptly at episode 9 (I think).

From piecing together scraps from the Internet, it sounds like 9 episodes (pilot + 8) have been made and these comprise the first half of series 1. Can anyone confirm this? Is there are schedule for completion of the second half of series 1?

    Cheers,
    -Phil

I highly doubt we'll see anymore after the next few episodes considering the poor ratings for the first batch of episodes, and the fact that surely most of the cast have signed onto other things, considering any second season wouldn't start shooting until next year at the earliest?

thats soo disappointing, it was a really good tv show. Can see how it would get great ratings tho. Its a sci-fi/soap opera with robots

I have to admit I'm not surprised by the uncertainty around Caprica's future..

It came out after the conclusion of one of the best Sci-fi shows in recent times (which itself had started to wane due to an over-reliance on it's religious aspects), and then threw away almost all the aspects that made that show successful.

Yes BSG had great characters and long-reaching story arcs, but it was also SCI-FI. That means cool futuristic ships, and lasers and big space battles in between all the character stuff!

Caprica could be any of the new run-of-the-mill "rebooted" teen dramas that have come out in the last 2 years. Aside from some of the names, there's nothing to connect it back to its roots. Ok there's the Cylon, but a Cylon posessed by some angst-ridden teenage girl?? That's not the BSG I remember (not even the original series went THAT far!).

As a result viewers like myself who enjoyed the rebooted BSG and the original show, have given up on it.. if I wanted to watch 90210 I would!

What they SHOULD have done (IMO) is set Caprica immediately before the outbreak of the First Cylon War and gone from there. As I said in the other thread, THAT'S the show I wanted to see!

I'm not sold on Caprica at all, i hope the second part of series 1 picks up. I found many of the first 9 Eps. rather boring....the exception being the Matrix style VR episode, that kicked a**!

I'm the opposite, I found the VR aspect interesting as first, but the more they got into it, the less interesting it became. That, and the characters of Amanda and Lacey were the shows biggest fails.
That being said, loved Daniel and Josefs storyline

Haven't seen a laser in BSG since the 80's version! :D
