Strange stuff you see while in flight?

This morning on route to Schiphol we were still over the sea and i could see something dark and triangular sticking out of the clouds.... at first i taught it was a Oil Rig or maybe even a tall building until i noticed we were still over the sea and when i seen water i seen 2 ships and going on the size of the ships there is no way it could have been a oil rig as we were still up quite high so it just was not plausible that it could have been a rig!


Anyone else come across strange stuff like that?

From the air I have seen patches of seaweed or algae on the sea surface that dwarf the nearby ships.

I did see a photo recently on www.flickr.com. It was from an Icelandic/Scandanavian member. It was of a frozen whirlpool in the artic. Absolutely amazing. The water currents were circular so the ice floes made a ring pattern which as the temp dropped completly froze over.

I think I know what you saw, my Mum on a trip back from Lourdes saw the same thing and took a pic..

Schipol ... that's Amsterdam isn't it? Too long in the local cafés? Might explain it!!

Na it was on my way over man, plus i was not in the city. I live 20 mins outside of Rotterdam
