I would like your opinion of lyle mcdonalds rapid fatloss diet

When I first heard of this diet I thought it was too drastic and that I would lose alot of muscle on it but the more I read amount nutrition and training the more im learning that alot of bodybuilding facts are basically bull

I read that if someone is very overweight like me then the risk of muscle loss on a very low calorie diet is minimal as long as one does weightraining

Basically the diet asks for someone like me 287lbs and 39% bodyfat to eat 1 g per pound of lean body weight a day ,10g of fish oil and some fibrous veg in each of those meals

He also states that the whole 6 meal a day thing is not necessary for folks losing fat and is only of benefit to guys trying to bulk up and cram in as much food as possible in the day

I have 175lbs of lean mass so I will be eating 175g of protein divided into 3 meals about 60g per meal

Total cals given fat intake of 10g(90 cals) and some veg im talking no more than 900 to 1000 cals

Because cals are so low I need only do full body 2 weights sessions a week and no cardio

My question to you is how

1.how can I mentally get myself ready for 12 weeks of this?
2.how much fat could I lose in 12 weeks with this diet?
3.what do u actually think of the diet?

why are you always asking about quick fix type diets? and why 12 weeks? why not make a permanent lifestyle choice of good diet and regular exercise, the odd treat, and everything in moderation>?

If you really wanted to change your lifestyle you would have done it by now.
The solution to your problem is simple, requires no preparation merely regular adherence to eating clean and exercising.

Change your diet immediately (upon reading this post) exercise vigorously and see what happens. Lots of meat, fish, veggies (except potato) some nuts + fruit. simple.

To be fair to Lyle he addresses all of this in the first chapter.
Basically there will always be people who (for right or wrong) will want to lose weight as quick as possible. The diet is basically for someone who wants to lose weight quickly for an event or as a kick start into a decent healthy nutrition and fitness regime.
The (guaranteed) quick results can be a motivational tool in itself to progress to a more sustainable lifestyle.
The rest (most) will just get fat again...

Have you actually read the whole book yet?

Four years now you've been asking people's opinions of various diets..everybody says the same..eat less and excercise more...you still wont do it.
Why dont you stop re-regging and bullshiiting yourself that you're a bodybuilder and go and get some help?

You start losing muscle only when there is no fat to lose.
Losing muscle = muscular tissue being processed to support your life.
So unless you're starving, that's not possible.
But if you actually lose muscle, be warned, muscular tissue does not regrow. So you can seriously damage your body if you starve. But since you're fat, I wouldn't worry about that because there's a lot of fat to precess before your body will start to eat your muscles.

To add to this, you'd probably be down a good 100+lbs by now if you had kept with the initial eating plan ya suggested about a year ago, turned off the computer and went training...

Edit: Definitely not taking a pop at the OP (that ain't how I roll yo).

His original Bodyforlife 'challenge' was FOUR years ago...since then he has done exactly nothing but re-reg and continue blithely eating and drinking the same old crap.
In four years ANYBODY could have turned thier life around if they just got off thier arses and made the changes and shut up talking theory.

And that's enough on that subject. You do not know the OP's circumstances, so there's no need to get sarky about it.
