I got a flyer in my door today from an electrical retailer called Swans Expert based in Carlow but I think they've got a few branches nationwide under the name Expert.

At first I was impressed with the flyer because it actually mentioned Irish DTT requirements for mpeg4 it described it's Tv's with DTT tuners as " MPEG-4 tuner - Irish DTT ready" This is a first I've seen, a retailer actually mentioning the need for mpeg4 tuner for Irish DTT.

Then I turned the page and read what the "Expert" TV doctor had to say -

I'm sure it's a typo and should read "Households without" and not "Households with"

I wonder if any Sky/Cable customers will ring their providers complaining about the lose of the Irish channels.:D

Typo alright also the 3e logo is included even though when, if or where they will be carried is unknown but of course a Doctor is never wrong

A previous Expert Electrical flyer also carried similar information and are the only retailers that I know of to date to publish such information. Of course Power City was the first retailer I know of to carry an "Irish DTT ready" sticker/logo/info on its range of digital televisions.

Sounds a little like the alleged hard sales of Sky in conjunction with the Digital swith on and analogue switch off and that RTE would only be available to those who switched to Sky!

I dont even know where to begin with that poster. Someone check that doctors credentials!
