    Hey guys

Brother got YLOD there on his PS3, only 1 year old .. the PS3, not the brother. Although thats some image..

Anyway, does anyone know of a repair centre in Dublin, that will do it for cheaper than the €150 that Sony want to charge him ?

    cheers

Use the search function here. I personally told Sony that if they didn't fix the YLOD I'd be taking them to court over it as, despite them claiming it was only under a one year warranty, our consumer laws and european laws state different.

They came, collected my PS3 and had a new one shipped out to me within a week. Don't take the crap off them, exercise your legal rights.

Console repairs in the city centre. I got mine fixed in lawless brothers in kinsealy for €90 and you get a three month warranty. They are also sony agents and can fix it in two days

Take it back to the retrailer you bought it from and demand a new one. You've got consumer rights to help you.http://www.consumerassociation.ie/rights_knowrights.html

Consoles shouldn't be breaking after a year. If they do that represents a manufacturing fault. There's a big thread about about a guy who took a retailer to the small claims court over a three year old PS3 that broke.

The contract isn't with Sony, it's with the retailer. It's doubtful you'd have had a case against Sony. Witht he retailer that sold you it yes, but with the manufacturer no I don't think so. I agree though, people should use the consumer rights that are there and not take crap.

Console repairs in Bray will sort you out.
I'll be heading back out to there over the weekend to sort out my YLOD PS3.

There's also a place in Old Bawn, Tallaght.. across from the Old Mill pub that do console repairs. Saying that, they said they couldn't repair my PS3 for whatever reason. I'am picking it up tomorrow after work and I will have to ask them what is up with not repairing it.

3 months no proper gaming is a right buzzkill :(
