Taking inspiration from the "ads you hate" threads

Late night channel surfing has resulted in me being exposed to "My Wife and Kids." This show is bad. Like seriously possibly the worst thing I've ever seen.

What shows get on your nerves?

home and away. Its the same story repeated every 6 months or so. A new troubled kid joins the show that is shockingly pretty/handsome and runs amok for a week or 2, then learns the errors of his or her ways and becomes the new star of the show.

    I'm glad you asked OP:

The Hills: how is it allowed continue? My worst fear is to be stuck at a session in the middle of these people.

Sex and the City: I just don't get it TBH, awful stuff.

Big Brother: nuff said really, it stopped being interesting after maybe the third season.

My Wife and Kids/two and a half men: It is NOT funny,

The Simpsons: Once my fav show but a shadow of it's former self and I can barely watch the older ones
now after noticing how obvious it is that they push their own beliefs/agendas.

Jeremy Kyle: in a nutshell all that is wrong with the world, at least jerry springer comes right out and says that people watch it to laugh at guests.

    "The Hills"
    "Kendra"
Any of the "Oh My God I Have Two Heads / Limbs of a tree" shows.
"How The Other Half Live" Makes rich people feel better by giving money to the poor, once or twice was ok but sick of it no, "Rather a spin in my Ferarri"
    X Factor, Come Dancing etc.

Most of the Irish Cookery shows, to make a basic meal first you have to buy half the Dunnes stores kitchen department, then you will need about 150 euro of ingerdants and two ovens and two Hobs.

Thats why we have two Sky boxes in our house, cheeper than a divorce lawyer.

Friends - How many more times will this idiotic show be shown

Glee - Don't see the point and sick of it...

    Hollyoaks/Home & Away/Emmerdale - Don't like any of those 3

Any of those annoying MTV Reality shows, especially the sweet sixteen sickening shows - they make me want to vomit

"reality" shows like The Hills, where every important moment of these vapid dipsh1ts lives happens to be caught on camera, usually another camera is conveniently filming a person who is calling them out of the blue, while they're a city away, people who watch this are morons.

I think I would prefer to make a list of shows that dont make me feel like putting my foot through the tv as it would be alot shorter .

Fame, X-Factor, Over the Rainbow, Ireland's got talent, Britain's got Talent, any reality show with Derek Mooney, I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here, Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother, Stirctly Come Dancing, American X-Factor, Rose of Tralee, they seem never-ending. As soon as one has finished, another starts, they fill my Sky+ Box, sometimes resulting in Match of the Day being deleted!!!!

Then when you add Fair City, Home and Away, Glee and other desperate soaps, I wonder how I still have a TV.

99.9% of RTE's home made comedy shows.

Sarah and Steve is the only thing RTE has made of worth since Path's to Freedom.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,150 ✭✭✭Deep Easterly

Any 'home improvement' show, esp that one on RTE where that Dermot fella always ups the budget, always.

All the American kooky 'comedy' shows on RTE 2, they're ****e and not remotely funny.
Home & Away/any cheap daytime soap.
Those CSI type programs where all the investigators are up their own arse.

    :)

Sex and the City and Friends are by far the worst for me - I have to switch or leave the room as soon as possible when either come on.

    Two and a half men

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,885 ✭✭✭Optimalprimerib

deal or no deal. Its as reoccuring as the angelus. Same thing every single day. Its not tense, its not tactical, the contenders need to be vetted to make sure their back story is schmalzy enough. And it has noel edmunds. A great show if u need an excuse to buy a new tv

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 540 ✭✭✭BUNK1982

    2 and Half Men
    - Charlie Sheen as a Malibu stud?? really - have you seen the state of him!

Any of those TV3 undercover Ireland shows
    - cheap cheap cheap. All they do is recycle TV3 news footage and bring that big baldy gom with the deep voice out to finger wag.

Any so-called reality show, with special mention for all things associated with "Big Bother"
Any "let's feature more untalented than talented" show
    Little Britain
    Katherine Lynch
    Fair City
    Dan & Becks
    The Late Late Show
    Jeremy Kyle
    Keeping Up Appearances
Any National Lottery show (they're always ****e)

Anything from ITV that TV3 just throw on for the sake of it, without even bothering to rephrase words like "the nation...."

Plus : anything that might have been watchable first time around but causes me to bang my head off the wall when it's shown for the umpteenth time (probably 5 times a day) on the same bloody channel, and makes me wonder whether it's even worth having a TV because there's almost nothing decent and new on.
