My 3 year old bitch has been chewing at her front legs, both of them, Tried putting savlon and dettol on it to dry it out but she keeps at them when my back is turned,
any suggestions as to what i can do to cure it or treat it,

Yeah, take her to the vet. It's not a good idea to take medical - and by extension, veterinary - advice from randomers on the net.

    Hi Ronn,

A couple of things may be happening here. Check her pads and between her toes for any seeds/thorns that may be causing the problem. Has it been hunting in nettles? Fresh nettles have quite a sting. Have you changed her diet lately? It may be a reaction to the new food. Boredom, especially in high energy dogs like springers, can cause them to start licking their paws and they continue doing this unknown to themselves. Eventually they will lick themselves raw and you are in bigger trouble. I have found that Iodine works well. It will heal any sores and dogs dont like the taste either. A trip to the vet is a good idea.

    Cheers,

    Mitch
