I'm kinda new on this, so I feel sorta lonely :(
But I've been reading some posts and everyone on this seems really nice, so I thought I'd be brave and make my own thready thingy!
I'm 17 and from Dublin, and right now should really be studying for summer tests :/
But ah well, you guys seem so much more inviting! :D
    What's everyone else up to?
Hope I get some reply to this, or I'll just look like an even bigger loner teehee...Thanks! xx

Hey, Im new enough on this too. Everyone is really nice..

I hate studying too, I somehow develop these new interests around exam time. I just would do anything but study!

Oh same! I've cleaned my room, washed my hair, and organised my sheets into nice orderly piles, but no studying has happened as of yet. I just don't have the concentration :/

I'm sitting in the library in college meant to be studying for an exam tomorrow but I can't, I feel your pain! What subjects are you taking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,191 ✭✭✭OopsyDaisy

There's just too many distractions! :P

I'm taking french, classics, history, and art, and of course english irish maths

    I've got french tomorrow :(
And history and classics on tuesday...my hand is going to be falling off by the end of that day :/

Yeah they're such writey-subjects. I always liked history but didn't take it for the LC because I knewe I'd never be able to write all that much! It was a bit mean of them to put History and Classics together!

That's what i said when I saw the timetable :(
History's interesting, but not when you're all confuzzled with dates and names

And wicklowstar, I CANNOT wait to get out of school,
Got my course for college picked and all :D

I'm hoping to do Costume design for stage and screen in IADT :D

I really havta work on my portfolio over the summer though :/

I put up a thread about doing work experience during the summer with anyone in the area of design or even a fabric shop or anything creative, but no one posted anything on it :( haha

What are you doing in college? :)

    Advertising and marketing in Tallaght..

I would have loved to have done something arty because I am actually really creative and stuff.. But portfolios kind of freaked me. Not sure why...

Oh I completely understand...even the word is freaking me out because I've done nothing for it yet.

Got myself a sewing machine a few weeks ago...It felt like Christmas :)

    Is advertising and marketing good?

Oh wow that sounds so cool! I love costumes, I saw School for Scandal at the Abbey a few years ago and the costumes were breathtaking. I also love Lady Gaga's costumes, they're so amazingly over the top!

I'm studying medicine, exams are on at the moment and I'm desperately trying to cram :( I just keep reading the one sentence

"Spermatids become spermatozoa during the process of spermiogenesis, which is the last phase of spermatogenesis. Spermiogenesis occurs while the spermatids are embedded in the luminal surface of the Sertoli cells. There are several components to this transformation: "

and giggling at the amount of times it says "sperm". It's repeated so much it's lost all meaning.

I would love to be able to make my own clothes..
    Have no sewing machine though!

has anyone seen the Phantom of the Opera with Gerard Butler?
    The costumes are AMAZING!

Ooh OopsyDaisy they have Classics in your school! That was one of my favourite subjects, I was so lucky to be able to take it because not many schools have it on the curriculum. It's a lot of writing though, I remember having 22 and a half minutes per essay in the LC or something ridiculous like that

Awesome that you've got a sewing machine, I got one for Christmas a few years ago. The first thing I made was a pair of purple trousers that I wore to death! :P

Fishie, my year's the first to do it in our school :D it is quite ridiculous, the amount of writing..but i'm a pretty fast writer, it's just the remembering part I'm bad at :P

    I know, it's so cool!
Although, as it's suggested by my name, I'm a tad bit clumbsy and accident prone, so the first couple of days my fingers where in plasters :P
But sure that's half the fun of it :D
