    Get a UK SIM.

Crazy roaming charges. Your texts, calls and mobile internet are only valid within Ireland. 3pay international charges are here (look under roaming and Band 1 for what it'll cost you in the UK). As Baza210 said, your best option is getting a UK SIM and using that

There are no roaming charges in the UK if you connect to the 3UK network. Not sure if you free minutes/texts are still valid. I think they are. I'm bill & all my minutes/texts work in the UK with no surcharges.

    Only true for billpay customers

Buy an O2 Uk sim, can pick them up for about a quid, pay 20sterling to top up and you'll get free data for the month.

Also get an International Bolt on, costs 4.99 i think but then ya can call anywhere in europe (landlines) for 5p a minute

I've been using a UK sim in my Desire in Ireland on and off for the last couple of weeks, just to be sure I have been turning off the Mobile Data connection, but it has come up with warnings about not having data access when roaming when I'm out of range of my wifi. Nothing about actually using any data over the mobile network according to the Data Counter Widget I have when the phone is roaming.

I said i'd post just incase someone checks the thread for info,i was in the uk and was able to use my internet add on,calls and texts as if i was at home. I did ring up 2 months ago and asked if i could so maybe they switched me over to allow it. It was a lifesaver

clocked up over €40 downloading 4mb up north at the weekend (meteor bill) so be careful to check before you use data services while roaming. wouldve been cheaper to use a taxi than the sat nav to get me to and from the pub :o
