In a shop this morning and saw their WC competition.
I think it was called Shirty or something like that.
Basically you pick a shirt number in match of a player and you get the shirt number x no of goals they score in that match to give you your points.
    So a Rooney double would be 9 x 2 for 18 points.
Keep picking players in every match (can use the same player each time) and total points at end of competition wins.
Prize in each shop of €250.
Overall main prizes 1st 25,000, 2nd 15,000 and down to 10th place with total prize fund of €100,000 (not 100% sure of exact money).
Not as big 1st prize as Boyles but a lot more prizes on offer and ten times easier to win.
Not sure if it's online as well.

Had seen this advertised in shop but hadn't really looked into. So basically you'd have to visit every day for duration of the tournament to play? Sounds like too much hassle for me tbh...good marketing ploy on Paddy's part though. Constant stream of customers in an overdiluted marketplace.

No you can do up to 3 days ahead so you only need to go in every 3 days
    No entry fee either.

Agree entirely about it being too much hassle. Tis fine if you're an auld fella in there for the free biscuits and coffee everyday :)

Plus, half the time when these competitions are on....if you mention it to a staff member they look at ya like ya have two heads. Much prefer the Boyles one where you can just fill it in online.

this is a clever way for PP to get people to keep coming into their shops.

Look at the differences between both

Paddy Power have at least 1 winner in each shop so that's about 230 winners plus another 10 larger prizes on top to make around 240 prizes.
Total prize fund of €100,000 and that's what they will pay out.
Free entry, have to go into shops more often to try and win it.

Boyles has a prize fund of €1,050,000 but of that €1 million is very probably not going to won so prize fund then becomes 3 prizes worth €50,000
Entry with a €5 bet, have to go into shop (or online) once.

 was because you wouldn't have to go in every day, just every 3.

Anybody know if Ladbrokes are doing anything?

And that's why I had the question mark. I was asking you a genune question. You hadn't mentioned that part in your OP.

Ladbrokes are running something but details won't be finalised for a couple of days.

    No worries.
Couldn't remember all the exact details as read them off a wall and was trying to recall them.
Wasn't looking for them but don't remember seeing any entry forms in the shop.

Lads very late getting it out, starts in 12 days time.

I reckon Laddies will start tomorrow. Girl in there text me yesterday saying they had all the promo stuff yesterday.

Jeez lads, free competitions and you're turning your noses up at them !
I have my Boyles stuff already.
The PP one sounds like good craic especially for the four days where there are four games on.
Can't wait to see what late Laddies weigh in with.
Last time W Hill did a thing where you picked 11 players scoring FF points. It was one team from the off, no transfers.

I was hoping somebody would do a double 1st goalscorer odds if they scored a 2nd during the match but nothing yet.
