What processes would a established firm use to remanufacture gearboxes?

Would the processes mostly comprise of surface treatments or would there be hot working processes involved also?

I've heard about these kind of companies a few times and am curious to what processes they use.

From website: 'we are a Leader in Europe for remanufacturing, a "green" manufacturing process in which an end-of-life part or used product returns to "like-new" functionality'

Remanufacturing or reconditioning. If youre remanufactureing, then the equipment gets expensive, and the people that can operate these machines are not easy to find. Gearcutting is a complex operation.
Reconditioning is the ability to diagnose problems or wear in gears, syncro's, bearings, selector forks, etc and replaceing them.

Have you got more specific questions.
