Just bought an 02 Transit. Owner has no idea what the code is to use the stereo. Any ideas on how to unlock it? When I start the engine the stereo starts a 30 minute countdown timeout thingy.

The garage he bought it from original should have it on record ...had to do something similar myself.
Try 0000 as well....it's quiet often the default code .

Remove it, the code might be written on the top of the radio.

Find the serial number on the back of the radio starts with M followed by 6 digits, post it here and I'll get the code for you. There are other locations where it might be like the glovebox on a sticker or under the ashtray. The serial / code could also be in the manual etc.

Tried the 0000 option but to no avail. Will ask the seller where they bought it from as there must be a way so thanks for the advice.
On a side note (and maybe in the wrong forum), anyone know how to fix a Transit horn that doesn't sound? I know it's quite an old van but it's still a decent runner. Any ideas on problem solving?

Remove the head unit and replace it altogether.

Ford head units are sh*te. My 01 Transit had a casette player FFS.

Check the fuse for horn to see if its blown
Look in book to see what relay horn is on, get someone to press horn while you are looking at the relay, you should hear it click, even put your hand on it and feel it click. if it does its fine.
Also possible that a wire has come loose on the horn which is behind the front bumper.

Agreed. You can get some decent ones for €50-60. Get a fascia plate off eBay for under a €5 (save paying Halfrauds €20).
