George Lee took a break from "licking stamps" this morning to contribute to Ryan Tubridy's show. Is this the first time he's been back, or what is his new position within RTE.. anybody know?

Would you mind telling us all who missed it what Lee's contribution was?

Hey was giving his opinion on a book as far as I remember. Cant remember what the book was. Dont think it was necessarily about Economics.

He's muzzled now as far as economics is concerned.

Was very very discretely done. No mention to his background, nothing about his return, or his venture into politics. Was just wondering if he's been RTE since he left politics previous to this appearance.

Heard it this morning... Joseph O'Connors book, nothing to do with economics.

this is how it will work, he'll be slipped in bit by bit and they will eventually hope

the licence payer forgets that bullrush out of the cattery.

    Won't fool the Flutther:cool:

He left the mailroom in disgust after he wasn't promoted to "chief stamp licker" after a week.

I'm led to believe that he's taking a personal finance role in rte, similar to Charlie Weston in the Indo or Jill Kirby from the sunday times .

advice on how to save money, financial products etc

It keeps him away from any political stuff

No, just normal for them to have the studio boy in the mailroom.

    Excellent Poly.. :D

To be honest I dont have a problem with George. I like the guy. But I have to say I was HUGELY disappointed that he didnt at least stay until 2012. I mean he only had to serve out the remainder of the term.

True but the window of opportunity to get back to RTE was starting to close, he took a year's leave of absense so theoretically he was still an RTE employee, albeit an unpaid one, when in FG.

He should have held out but I see FGs rating have fallen in the most recent poll so maybe he made the right move to leave FG and politics behind.

George Lee really is just punching the clock

sounds like he should be on suicide watch

todays 'business' show ran as follows (so far)

    - Unions attempting to justify their existence, George allowed 2 pro Union ppl Vs 1 entrepreneur and didnt interject himself

    - George allowed a 'Relocation' company airtime to discuss their company and how they can help listeners emigrate

    The Business ???

    hardly.

It gets worse, he now has the hypocrite Robert Ballagh and some other whisperer on discussing the Occupy movement ?????

Interesting how far George has gone off course from his shows agenda...
    RTE:
The Business takes an entertaining, offbeat and informative look at the world of business and finance. As well as exploring the major issues and players of the day in the world of commerce, it also brings you the best from small and medium Irish companies around the country.

    - Beards - FAIL
    - Emigration Negativity - FAIL
    - Occupy Movement - FAIL

    Pathetic George, pathetic.

Very hard to listen to Frank Daly... He's talking about NAMA as if they are a multinational, investing in Irish jobs... NAMA only exists because of the failures of The Department Of Finance, there is no public service success story here... And the term profit does not have any meaning in the context of NAMA..

Never understood why you would take a man out of retirement to head a company anyway, usual jobs for pals b*ll*x you'd expect from FF.

Not to mention all the fat fees that NAMA'S professional advisors are making.
