Personal Training?

    Hey folks,

I'm not much of a gym enthusiast, but like most people, when I get there, I'm normally fine. Problem is, I rarely get there :P

So my question is, that I'm curious how expensive Personal Trainers are?
If I know I have to meet someone at a certain time, that's enough to motivate me to be there.

I need to improve cardio, shed about a stone and a half, work on a decent diet, and hopefully tone it all up too.

Maybe some PT's can throw me a PM and fill me in how it normally works etc?

    Thanks!

    :)

    Hi There

Not a PT but I know one or two and the price seems to be around €60-€80 per hour.

Another cheaper option might be to find somebody else to join the gym with and train with (a gym buddy). That way if you train on the same nights, then you can keep each other motivated and you wil have the " I have to meet X for a workout" to get you to the door of the Gym.

For me I just make it somethign that I have to do.

    I have to work
    I have to sleep
    I have to eat
    I have to shower/shave
I have to go to the gym

Just like scheduling a meeting in work, I schedule 1.5 - 2 hours each day for a workout. Took a while to get into the routine, but now it's just part of my day.

    Best Regards,

    M

I made sure to join a gym that on my way to and from work....i cant get home without passing the gym doors which helps, another part is that i actually look forward to my workouts so im less likely to skip, for example...and this is where the big boys start laughing at me!...tonight im going for my record bench of 80Kg, ive been working up to it and hit 75 on wednesday.....i find goals like that make it easier o get in there and do it, as far as i know theres a trainer in crunch whose 50 an hour which may not be so bad!!!

If you are anywhere close to Crossfit Ireland, that's the best "personal training" you can get. Well, it's not personal training but you can join classes. It's fun, challenging, competitive and you're looked after. I have only been a member for a month but I find it's great for my motivation, learning many new technical skills and improving my fitness. I don't feel I miss anything much in the normal gym.

Best of luck with the PB tonight man (80kgs is a very respectable bench). That extra 5kgs should be no problem to ya.

I signed up with a PT last year and it has been the best decision I have ever made and the best money I have ever spent. But I think that you need to sign up with someone who is really really good at their job who have demonstrated that they have in the past helped other people.
