Diesel Servicing: Major vs Minor

Just to confirm I have this right a major service (every 12000 miles) requires an oil change including oil filter aswell as fuel filter and air filter to be changed whereas a minor (6000 miles) only requires the changing of oil and oil filter? Is this correct?

I realise your meant to check tyre depth and wiper blades etc as well but Im just focusing on the more important aspects of the engine so have I left anything out in the above checklist? In particulr is it just the oil and filter that needs to be replaced at a minor service? Feels like there should be something else that needs to be done too?

Its an older diesel btw (2000)

Fuel filter replacement would often only be every 40k miles. Based on that, I would just drain the water from it every 12k miles & not worry about it at the 6k oil change.
What about timing belt? Has it been recently replaced?
Not many people change oil every 6k miles. It is worth while though imo.
You should be checking brake wear, & condition of belts & flexi hoses & rubber boots as a minimum level of inspection along with the oil change.

It'll all be in the car's service book.

Yep TB done recently enough and brakes were done recently enough too.

    Cheers Mick :)
