    Hello everyone,
I recently applied for a jobs that has a selection process as follows:

    Application Form
    Aptitude Test
    Keyboard Skills Test
    Criteria Based Interview

I was wondering if anyone knows what a Keyboard Skills Test is (would I be correct in thinking it is a typing test or is their more to it than just typing).

And secondly I was wondering what you consider to be the minimum wpm typing requirements for a standard office job for both private and public sectors.

    Thanks

keyboards skills would probably be accuracy and speed.

WPM (Words per Minute) needs would vary from one job to the next, but about 30 WPM is a decent start, with a high level of accuracy.

you can find out your WPM speed on line -there are various typing exercises and tests if you google it, you will get more info.

Yes it is to test your typing speed and accuracy. If you have time practise online as much as possible. I think if you can get it above 40 wpm at least you will stand a better chance. There are a lot of people out there who can type as fast of 60 + wpm, but I think most companies are fine with between 40-50 wpm. Even if you don't get this job, you can test your speeds and put it on your CV.
