World Cup Squads Deadline?

    Quick question

I know that all the teams have to hand in their 23-man squad by June 1st, but does that mean midnight on June 1st is the deadline? Or is there a particular time to hand them in by?

I don't think June 1st is a hard and fast rule for naming the 23-man squad.

I think officially they have to handed in prior to the KO of the opening game.

They can also make a last minute change if someone on their 23-man squad suffers an injury.

I've always thought its kinda unfair that a player who gets injured cannot be replaced.

It's too open to abuse. Players would be getting "injured" at convenient times to accomodate other players possibly coming back from injury mid tournament.

ie if Beckham was due to be back to full fitness at around quarter final stage, they could leave him out to see do they get there then just bring him in if they do.
