JJ Abrams and Lost

    Having seen the odd episode of Alias which Abrams was also involved in he does tend to more action orientated.
    Question is would Lost plot have taken a different turn if he had been more involved.

    Less character focused and more mythology focused I would imagine.

    I think there would have been an alternative timeline or universe that really was connected to the main story on the island. Characters from the alternative reality would find a way to get to this reality. If you watch Fringe (which J.J. Abrams co-created) you can see how this might have worked out.

    Either that or the island really would have been Purgatory. I'm convinced that that was what the original story was going to but everyone worked out what was happening so the writers changed the storyline.

    He's saying the writers probably planned the island to be purgatory from the start. Obviously they didn't die in the plan crash, and the last season was purgatory, but I bet they had it planned for the island to be limbo.
