I did try Killzone out again recently and realised just how poor it was, and how desperate Sony were to compete with the Xbox in the FPS genre, something they singularly failed to do.

I loved the game, found so much fun in setting up hour long matches in Beach head. I though the SP in Killzone 2 was annoying, mainly cause you couldn't drop that god damn pistol.

Yes i have it (hires too), but for doomsday i am need hamachi and someone who play with me, sometimes i play hexen2 through hamachi, because h2 doesn't have master server or public (or known ) servers.
For all other heretic and hexen games its easy to play online.
I am don't have LAN. So hamachi create Virtual LAN through internet.

I am often play this, so you can create (or someone else) hexen server, all other can join (give server name to them).
Or simply start doomseeker (from skulltag folder) and find server named

As for your list, I've plenty of problems with it:

Goldeneye has aged dreadfully. It was a very influential game but it's terrible now.
Resident Evil 1, I prefer the Gamecube remake and while I love the game, it's not top 10 material for me.
Tomb Raider 2 is a terrible games. TR1 is still the only good game in the old franchise and I feel Tomb Raider Anniversary improved on that greatly.
Mario Kart 64 I feel is by far the worst in the series. I'd take Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii and Double Dash over it anyday.
Fifa 95, meh football games and ISS Deluxe and sensi were always way better
Gears of War 2. Decent game but getting no where near my top 100.

u need to stop talking through your rear end, friend. wtf is your list, i believe marcusphoenix asked for the ten BEST games ever, not the ten WORST! you're clearly a n00b, bubble bobble was flawed, i recall the infamous "purple bubble" in level 10 being one of the biggest glitches in gaming history. as for panzer dragoon saga, i wasted 20 quid on that pile of stinking dog ****, no wonder it's "rare" as you so put it, because, quite simply its a load of cock. radiant silvergun is a bit of a strange one indeed, seeing as its probably good if you're a five year old girl.

Yeah Doom 2 looks crap today also, but when you say your running it @ 60fps, are you running it on a modern pc? Run Goldeneye via an emulator with all the super duper direct x plugins that are available today and tell me it doesnt look better than it would running on an N64...

By your own admission, it was the first mutiplayer fps on a console. That is what you should be remembering it for, not that its experience was lacking compared to Duke/Quake on a pc. I dont know about anyone else here, but when the N64 was around and Goldeneye in its prime, I could only dream of owning a pc...but I could never afford one back then. So Goldeneye stepped up to the masses, and provided vintage 2 player fun for hour upon hour.

I wont remember Goldeneye for its graphics, its music, its storyline etc...but I will remember it for doing what a videogame is supposed to do...it entertained, it was fun, and it was a classic. It looks crap today, probably plays crap - but it didnt 13 years ago...thats how it should be judged. Retro gaming isnt always about how you feel playing those games today, for me a lot of it is about how it made you feel when you played those games years & years ago.

ha ha. i bet he is crying! however i dont see why anybody would be lying about playing a game. everyone has their own opinion and some of us prefer ff7 to pds or other games. in fact the majority of the world prefer ff7 as games sales will show. i know that doesnt mean it is better, but it shows it is more popular whether u like it or not

Game sales means nothing, casual gamers are lemmings. Always buying the next big 'A' title, and ignoring everything else. That's not to say some 'A' titles are not good, but when you have the same games charting at the same time every year it means nothing. (Every November Smackdown charting for example.) So just because FF VII sold well doesn't make it the best RPG around. It's ok but dated badly.

In all seriousness though, it's a great game. Anyone saying otherwise is just wrong. End of.

As for Final Fantasy VII having more sales than PDS, it's just down to advertising and publicity. Look how many sales the likes of the 50 cent game gets. And that's a turd.

Saying that though, I do love FF VII. No matter how much Retr0 bangs on about it

If you had played Panzer Dragoon Saga you wouldn't be saying this. Popularity also is never an indicator of whether something is good or not. FFVII is a great game, but best ever or even in a top 10? Only if you haven't played many games.

Also purple bubble in Bubble Bobble? Don't make up stuff up next time you want to sound intelligent. Anyway when has a bug made a game bad? Games like Fallout and Baldurs Gate are riddled with bugs but they are classics.

thank you marcusphoenix, you clearly have a magnificent taste in games. i too love your top ten, goldeneye imo has not aged a bit, a visual treat for the sometimes overwrought senses. as for your love of the gears of war games, i also am a fan. my humble brother and i completed the game on co-operative mode and it was a truly wonderful gaming experience. a truly ingenious thread started by your good self, it is rather a pity that so many n00bs are commenting and raving on about the putrid, foul and oftentimes stinking Panzer Dragoon Saga.

tbh, i have played pds, the extremely rare japanese rpg, and it doesnt even come near cleaning ff7's shoes imo. it was one of the reasons i got rid of my saturn

i'm talking about panzer dragoon saga, and i have played it. i personally found the game to be boring and drawn out, unlike the fantastic and far better final fantasy VII

Well maybe you think that but there's dozens of other RPGs out there that do what FFVII does and do it better. Suikoden 2, Grandia, most of the SMT games. FFVII has some serious flaws that really can't be ignored. Even in the FF series I'd take 6, 9 and Tactics over it.
