Anybody recommend anything, post links to cars if you have any.

    I'd like to exclude Audi.

I'd nearly freak out and buy a Skoda VRS if it wasn't for the white on the seats. Anybody else got any other ideas.

The more it looks like a van the better.

    Golf Van?

Even buy a car in the UK and convert it

I've a Auris 1.4D Van and my accountant has told me get rid of it and get a car for financial reasons.
I really like where the gear stick is in the Auris, every other car feels wrong after driving it.
I'd like an Auris 180 diesel but their out of budget.

Could haggle that price down a bit.

Nice spec and nippy enough for a Diesel.

My brother has the same one and there always seems to be something wrong with it, going to give the volvo a skip.

I dont think you'd get a Octavia vRS (diesel) for less than 10k.You'd get a Fabia vRS alright

You will pick up an E39 BMW 530d, if you could cope with the €1600 annual motor tax.

If you came on here you may expect to be told to buy a BMW

Personally i'd go for an Accord 2.2 cdti lovely machine to drive and very nippy

530d is only 1200 odd to tax for the year.

have a 530d for sale if ur intrested

conor26021988, you can put it up on adverts.ie for free and the OP can have a look if interested. Unless drunkmonkey says otherwise, this thread isn't for advertising cars for sale though.

drunkmonkey - it's not really the quickest of cars and doesn't really look like a van, but you'd get an Alfa GT 1.9 for under 10K I reckon.

Vectra 1.9 150 Sri. A few months back you could have had my 2005 one for 7.5k. You would get a 2006 for that and it would have the swirl valve issue sorted

OP I was in your position in Janurary, I went for an 04 320d with 65K miles on it.

Once you know what to look out for (oil separator/swirl flaps) they are a great car. I've put 10K on mine and am really pleased with it.
