    Hey was just thinking there, would studying soc and pol in an arts degree enable you to teach CSPE in school?(after having done a h.dip in education, of course).

    You don't need any specific qualification to teach CSPE (aside from the HDE). Most CSPE teachers use it as time filler to bring the amount of hours they work per week up to the requirement for being a full-time teacher.

    So yes, with it you could teach that subject but honestly, very few principals would hire someone to specifically teach CSPE.

    So if you do go down that road, make sure you combine it with another subject that would be attractive for a principal (like Maths, Irish etc.).

    Ah right thanks. Yeah I'm doing English and soc and pol next year so I'm sure it will be grand.
