    Hi Guys

As the title suggests I am starting a new BJJ/Submission Wrestling class every Friday in Coolmine Sports and Leisure Complex. Its on at 7:30 - 9:15. It'll be on a trial basis but if it picks up (which I hope it will) then it will be permanent! ;)

It will be split evenly between clinch and groundwork.

    All are welcome. :)

    Hi Luke,

I would be interested in that and I think some of my guys also.
Best of luck anyway and I am sure it will be a big success.

How did the first session go Luke? It´s a great idea to have a friday session.

Is the sat senior judo class still running?

Senior Judo Sat has gone the way of the dodo's I'm afraid. The junior class got way too big! :)

    See you on the mat

That's a shame, used to be a great session, not too many places to train on the weekend. Great to see so many kids starting the sport though.

It'll be july before I have time but i'll see you there!

Yeah theres plenty of up and coming talents alright, keeping the kids interested in judo from six years old to adult age is the challenge! :)

See you in July! As always doors are always open in Coolmine for anyone who wants to train!

Is this class still running? Any plans to expand to more than just Fridays?

    Its running alright.

I've no access to facebook at the moment, but there's a poster done up for it with a deadly decal/badge (sorta thing).

It's still running alright. I popped down for a look last Friday when I was up in Dublin.

Excellent class. Great training and structure. Learnt alot at it.

Loved the way the whole class was linked through starting from standup - certain clinch picked, then the various ways of taking them down from that particular clinch. This was then carried on with one of the clinches being transitioned through to stronger dominant position and then finishing from there. Various levels of resistance there with different training partners before sparring it at the end. Really drilled it home.

Highly recommend the class to anyone that's close by.
