    Just listening to this
    http://www.burnthefatinnercircle.com/transform/accesspass.html

and would be very interested in how you get on, have you decided yet & entered?

At the moment my focus is on running & I'm starting training for the half-marathon soon, but I am thinking I might do the 7 week holiday one in November.

What happens after you enter - do you get a plan? or just follow one of his books (I have the body fat solution)

Send us a postcard from Maui!

So are you a member of "the inner circle"? is it good, worth the $'s?
I love Tom but find the set up of his sites/blogs a tad confusing!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 821 ✭✭✭xgtdec

No im not an inner circle member, but i did buy the book which means you get access to the forums for the duration of the summer challange

I think TOm and all his buddys got their sites done by the same guy, they are long and rolling and it takes ages to get through them, i found that the ebook and the bonus books..like motivation and recipies were very very good, theres mails as well which keeps you up to date. I used to go to the motivation clinic on Dawson St but through gym work and reading Tom's material i kinda out grew it, and for the price of the book i think its well worth it for the summer winter challange alone........:Djust to clear it up....i aint a partner in Tom Venuto enterprises or nothin like it:D

Yeah they are kind of maze like - they're like those awful scammy weight loss sites but he is genuine. His website needs a transformation!
So will you set up a training log to track your 98 days? I would be very interested in reading your programme/nutrition as you go.
    Tallaghafornia here you come! :D

the whole point of his plan is to get say 100-200 people with before photos, get lucky and get sent 4-5 realllllly good after photos and hey presto you have a way to sell your new book, video etc.

i just put it all up for free and let people take what they want from it rather than creating some 'special' methods around the program.

I hate all these - get my free ebook BS that goes on as most is full of bodybuilding junk and very few of them work with any clients at all.

Toms book is all good diet stuff and a section on supplements the good the bad the ugly etc, i dont think the book says anything i aint heard on boards already and it gets all that info in one handy ref guide. i have not seen bodybuilding junk in it, i dont think he endorses anything like that, as far as getting 5 really good before and afters for making money purposes...that just really good business, im sorta like Tom in a way, ill look after my own needs, his are making money from fitness and mine are losing fat and getting fit....perfect match...and all for one super low low price:D

I got this e-book and I am very disapointed to be honest. It's not on the level of the body fat soluiton, or burn the fat. It's also 77 pages in total, the book, the workout and the food list (database). he goes on about calories / carb cycling and stuff like - you have to find way to deal with stess, and you have to sleep enought.

You obviously haven't read it, there's no "bodybuilding junk" in there and no "special methods" - it is just proper nutrition and working hard at exercise, cardio + weights. Yes, you could probably find everything it says online for free, but it's handy to have it all in the one place. I found it very educational, I suppose people on here probably know it all already though ;)

The summer challenge is great for motivation, I'm delighted I joined up! And the people on the forums are really nice and supportive, not like here. Haha, sorry couldn't resist. Seriously though, people on the fitness forum here seem to be longing to cut 'newbies' down or have a rant about whatever (cardio is better, no HIIT IS BETTER, no WEIGHTS ARE THE BEST!!!) Soooo over it :)

P.S. I wasn't talking about Transform in that little rant, he is always very helpful!

    !

Not to go off topic but I've always found posters on here really supportive and helpful! I can understand people being a bit narky the odd time when the same posts come up so regularly by people looking for advice who then don't seem willing to take it. Especially considering that some well informed people have taken the time to put tons info in to the stickies yet they seem to be bypassed quite a bit.

I think it's just that anything involving quick fixes or gimmicks (not that I'm saying that's what this is, I don't know much about it) will be shot down pretty quickly in here, because most of the posters have learned from experience that they don't work.

Agreed and i do not see the need to do something with someone you never can actually meet face to face as i am sure you could work with a trainer for a session or two in your area just so he/she could look over your program and take a gander at your form on all exercises.

Getting structure on a program from Mr Venuto is great but i would pump for meeting someone face to face if you can.

I think that what ever it is that gets people motivated is good, sure there is an aspect of money making involved but if it gets people thinking about their diet and exercise its a start.

The way stuff is written on thi forum might seem a bit: this is how you do it don't do it wrong read this now read that now do thgis . etc etc but thats because no-one is trying to get paid they are just telling people the answers to what they want to know. The style is that of a person answering a question.

i have used this forum for years , i hardly ever ask any questions i just search for what i want to know but i've always been self motivated in my approach to learning and to fitness so that works for me.

Have done a few sessions with a personal trainer to check form alright - I don't the challenge is supposed to replace a trainer, it's just a bit of motivation in that there are loads of people in the same boat as you. In fact I don't think we will ever hear from the man himself throughout the whole thing lol :)

Maybe that rant was a bit unfair, there are some very helpful people on here... unfortunately there are also those who wait for a "newbie" or "stupid" question so that they can pounce and show off how much they know! Then again those type of people are everywhere I guess!!!

Yes they are and I really think the advice given here is more directed to help people find the best solution to their challenges and not to pull them down.

Again best of luck with it
