    London 8/1 to beat Roscommon.

Couldn't name one player on either team but these seems like great odds.

Roscommon have been fairly poor the last few years. Roscommon won 1, lost 7 in Div 3 this year. Having said that, London won 1 (against Kilkenny), lost 6 in Div 4 but 8/1 is great value.

Its really not, in fact I'd say thats one of the lays of the week(If they even have it on the exchanges). Roscommon have been playing in Division 3,whereas London have only beaten Kilkenny this year. Roscommon pushed a fair few teams in Div 3 and also bet Louth, who won against another Div 4 side last weekend in the championship.

Backing London to beat Roscommon at anything less than 15/1 would be pretty bad value imo.

I reckon Roscommon will push through this. Might be tight enough in the first half as London are the more physical team. But over the 70 i can see Roscommon taking maybe a 4-5 point lead mid second half and holding on to it. As far as i remember London have only ever one once in the Connaught championship and i think Roscommons experience will prevail in the end. As artic said, if the odds were a bit higher i'd put small stakes on London as they do have a full league season behind them and are at home where there's usually a decent atmosphere. It will be tight enough game i reckon though.

Even though Roscommon are poor there's almost no chance of an upset here! I will be surprised if Roscommon aren't playing in the Connaught Final this year....

    It should be 100/1.

As much as id like it to happen... London will not beat the rossies. Leitrim beating them in the semi mite be worth a punt though.. especially if it is in Carrick

If anyone is looking for value in GAA games there is some to be found in the handicaps but the best for me over the years is live betting. Especially the over/under. In 2 games alone last weekend i won over 2 grand. Granted i put up huge stakes for that return.

I expect Donegal v Down to be a high scoring open game. It's evens for Down to score more than 13 points and slightly above evens for Donegal. As it's on RTE there should be live betting. Well worth looking at the lines if watching the matches.

Some good games in the hurling too.

    The above is ridiculous.

You will be hard pushed to find a better value 8/1 shot for a long time. Roscommon are in dire straights at the moment, and London have added a few decent players to the panel. London ran Roscommon to a point a few years ago, and have since improved with the Rossies getting worse. They should be around the 7/2, 4/1 mark.

15/1? Lmao! London wouldnt be 15/1 against Mayo or Galway, never mind Roscommon. By your reckoning, that would give London about 12-14 points on a handicap. Im fairly sure they will cover that.

Please, bestow your wisdom upon me so. What was wrong with my post? So how many points would a 15/1 shot usually get on a handicap? New York were 16/1 to beat Galway and got a 12 point handicap. Tipp were 7/1 to beat Kerry and their handicap was +7. Maybe 12-14 is on the high end due to how poor the Roscommon forwards are, but it is still not too far off the mark. Or is there something wrong with saying that the 8/1 about London was overpriced?

Will I send you a screenshot of my betfair account statement to prove how little I know? Idiot

London +7 @ 2.10 is a decent price because i don't think Roscommon will win by more than 6 points. Maybe 4 or 5. I'm not sure it is in this Rossie team to step it up a gear and destroy London. They're not physical enough and their form has been crap. Not that London are any good either. But i predict a close enough one. Could be a worthy double or medium stake on a single.

Just noticed its 9/1 for the handicap draw (+7) in the Ros-london match... surely thats great value  Stuck a couple of quid on it anyhow

Handicap draws in GAA or rugby are never great value IMO. So hard to predict the exact winning margin. Maybe in a close match where the HC is a point or two.

Hopefully now you've seen the result you feel different, London never had a hope.
