They returned to the age where they all met.

I've asked the same question and the answer i got was they didn't die at the same time but they all returned to the age they where on the island so they'd all know each other or because that was the age they where when the purgatory begin. Hope that helps u out, done f all for me!

Exactly. To a gr8 extent age and appearance are irrelevant as the alternate place they are in is after death.

Another question they are in purgatory but isn't purgatory only a catholic thing? What sayed and sun an Jin?

I suppose you could argue it wasn't specifically purgatory

Most of us are using the word purgatory because that's the word that comes to mind first.
It seems to be a purgatory/waiting room for all beliefs, inside the room where Jack talks to his dad look at the window, it has symbols of many religions on it.

Exactly, it was neither heavan or hell but wasnt Purgatory. The Losties created this place so that they could find each other.

It was also created to give the creators a chance to redo things. Ben chooses Alex over power, Des has Widmores respect, Faraday is a musician, Locke has Helen, Miles has a relationship with his Dad, Jack overcomes his father problems by being a father himself, Locke accepts his disability, Hurley is now the luckiest guy in the world, Jin and Sun are together and pregnant what happened with Keamy had to happen to bring them together, Sawyer chooses a life of law-enforcement rather than crime. All this enabled them to move on easier.

    It is not Purgatory

What about the other people who were there but weren't on the island? Are they actually real?

And what about lockes father? He's actually been crippled so does he actually get a chance to move on? Is he actually trapped in their?

I think the case with the other people is that they have either moved on themselves or are waiting to be guided to the next stage. When Ben decides to stay to sort some stuff out, perhaps he will go and gather some more 'lost souls' that were on the island? Might be his way of alleviating his conscience for his actions during his life.

Why couldn't you have asked this in the episode discussion thread instead of starting a new one?

The amount of these new threads popping up dealing with the finale is ridiculous.

    Closed!
