handle bar problem

    hi i bought a new bike this evening in halfords, i put all the parts on and adjusted the brakes etc
    the problem is no matter how tight i tighten the allen key bolt, i can still move the bars iof i grip the wheel with my legs, i'm afraid to go too much and strip the threads, any ideas

    Its likely an expansion bolt, so you have to really tighten it.

    yeah its the type that looks as if it was cut at 45 degrees, i even used a ratchet and an allen piece for it, it really feels like its gonna strip the threads
