Wedding Suits

Has anyone got a recommendation for suits for the wedding party? He is not sure if he wants to hire or buy. What do you think? Our budget is very tight but if the suits are bought, they will serve as the gift to the groomsmen too.

Is the father of the bride in the same suit? Should there be a difference? Should there be a difference between the groom & the groomsmen?

About how far in advance should the suits be ordered.

At the wedding journal show, I got a flyer from a shop which as far as I remember was called "the tux shop". I can't find them online and have lost the card. I don't suppose anyone knows them?

    Thanks

We hired ours from Aston Formal Wear, they were very good.
I've also heard good things about Youngs in Liffey Valley.
We visited Chaplins in Dundrum who seemed good also.

As to who wears the suits - its up to you, there is no 'rule'. We're having all immediate family members (dads, brothers) wearing the suits even if they aren't directly in the bridal party as we wanted them to really feel part of the celebrations. The groom is wearing a different colour tie to everyone else, his is ivory whereas everyone else is wearing a tie the colour of the bridesmaids dresses. Again thats a personal choice though, i've seen the groom and groomsmen wear exactly the same, i've also seen them have different colour waistcoats and also different colour jackets. Again theres no rule, its totally up to you. Maybe have a look at some photos of weddings in magazines/online and see what you think looks good.

For the ordering - we ordered 3 months before the wedding. Aston require that everyone is measured 8 weeks before the big day but i'd say that differs in other places.

M&S do suits, trousers €30 and jackets €40. Worth a look, I got 5 for the lads at my wedding.
