Advice on parts

Right folks I need some advice. Two things saddle and tyres.

I need to change my tyres and as I do a good amount of long distance (100+km) spins I'm looking for some with good grip and as puncture proof as it gets. Any thoughts?

Secondly I've a head wrecking creaking sound coming out of the saddle. Its a basic saddle that came with the bike and I guess its wearing down.

    a) is there a remedy for this?

    b) if not whats a good one to replace it. keep in mind I've no interest in expensive carbon jobbies.

    Was thinking on this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=15824

    or this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=29672

    Any thoughts?

    Tyres: Conti GP4000S

Saddle: a bit of grease on the rails and a small drop of lube in the points where the rails go into the saddle.

I tried that with teh saddle but I must give it another shot tomorrow when I've more time. Its one of those nosies that at the start of a spin you think ah its grand. Then after about 50km start to really piss you off and you start looking forward to the hills to get out of the saddle and get rid of the noise for a bit.
