Holiday or Hotel Gift Cards/Vouchers

    Hi all

Quick question for you all - I need to buy a gift card for my parents and I want to get them a voucher that they can use for their holidays later this year.

Ideally I wanted to get them a gift voucher for a hotel brand name which they could then use in any of those hotels around the world. I tried Sheraton but they don't do this - does anyone else know of worldwide hotels that do?

Also, how safe is it to buy travel agency vouchers?

    Thanks in advance. :)

You could buy a One For All Voucher.

Do not buy vouchers. A lot of Americans come over here and buy vouchers from their travel agents at home and they end up paying over the odds for accomodation.

Rather like Supervalu tokens. If you ring the hotel and haggle you will get that rate every day of the week and if you are savvy enough then better.

The only thing you could do is try to think where they like to go or where they would like to go and buy a hotel voucher directly from a good hotel in that area.

I knew my in laws wanted to go to Killarney for their anniversary so months in advance I was able to haggle out a good deal for them in a great hotel.

Thanks Berty I'll check out the One for All vouchers. So you wouldn't recommed buying a Sunway voucher for example?

Also I was hopeful that some of the global brands may have a worldwide voucher system - like Hilton for example.

    Can anyone think of anymore?

This might or might not be of help. If your parents are retired you would get 3 months rent in the off season in the south of Spain for in or around the same money.
