Can other countries dentists practice in Ireland

    A friend of mine is a dentist who practices dentistry in Beijing.

    My friend studied dentistry in Beijing, and qualified 2 years ago.

    Can Chinese dentists with an EU work permit, practice dentistry in Ireland ?

    Or must they re-train (or take extra exams) in Ireland ?

    My friends English is completely fluent

    Hi there

    they would have to take an exam and work in a hospital setting for a while. contact the Dental Council in Merrion Sq, they will have all the info.

    I wouldnt be rushing to Ireland if I was a dentist at the moment

    Although, with the significant Mandarin speaking population in Dublin, there may be a market for a Mandarin speaking dentist....
