Does the CIP proof not refer to whether the gun has been through a proof house procedure or not ? Every new or significantly modified gun should be proof fired by an established proof house ( for example in England it would be the Birmingham proofhouse, in Belgium it would be Liege ) with an extremely heavy load to establish whether the gun will stand up to normal use or not. If the test is successful the gun will be stamped to give evidence of proofing.
