Was the last episode good? [** NO SPOILERS **]

I'm in work and won't get to watch the last episode until this evening. I'm afraid to go into any other thread on the episode to avoid spoliers. Just wondering was it good?

I thought the Jacob/MiB episode was terrible but thought the second last episode ("what they died for") had set the scene well for the ending.

good stuff cannot wait for this tonight!! I know I'll like it judging by the poll in the other thread - you can normally tell when a good % gave it a 10 I normally fall in with the majority! :D only exception being the jacob brother ep which was only meh.

Long time reader, first time poster in this forum. There are a couple of posters above whose opinions mine are very similar to.. Do you feel satisfied with the conclusion of the story as opposed to the episode itself? Answers on a postcard...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,167 ✭✭✭gsxr1

    I feel slightly ripped off.

    Unsatisfied.

I think I want all those long hours of my life back.

    Or maybe I want more.

Ahh, a thread i can come into without having to worry to much. I've been completely avoiding the forum, except to look at the results of the votes on the main post. I actually covered anything below it with my hand just to be sure.

I'll watch it tonight at around 9pm, then sit and think about it for the rest of the night :P

I loved it, and I agree with those above, its marmite alright.

Fantastic way to wrap it up. Will have to watch it a few times tbh.

I liked it anyway but i've no doubt there will be some people who won't.

I'd give it a 10/10, thought it was an extremely satisfying, clever conclusion to the show which provided a fantastic send-off for the characters and world.

If you come expecting every mystery answered, well you won't be happy. If you just want a good ending to a six season storyline, then it is just fantastic.

I got a text from my brother after Lost this morning saying he was sooo confused. Can't wait to see it myself, hopefully will get to watch it this afternoon sometime.

Also just had a peek at the poll results for it, and it seems that the majority is going for 10...good stuff. Just hope there won't be too many tears before it's over :(

I imagine that could be explained by some variation of the Stockholm syndrome. :D

    10/10 for me
And I haven't even seen it yet !

I watched it at 2 am and have never changed my mind about something so much while watching it...it had me thinking this is exactly what I wanted then something would happen that I didn't like...by the time the last few scenes came along I couldn't believe that it was over and I couldn't believe this is how it was ending.

I did enjoy it I must say tho!

The cgi was very good for a change, the spaceship looked so real.

I had no idea Lost was a prequel to District 9, amazing ending.

Great episode until the last few minutes, 10/10 up until that point. Dropped quite drastically to 1 or 2/10 then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,140 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Was a bit predictable I felt, didnt see any major twist. Had some pretty lumpy throat moments but dont feel it was a fitting send off.

    I'd give it a 6/10 7 if I was lucky.

Wasnt worth the worldwide hype imo.

In a big week with two massive shows coming to a close, I think 24 can definitly edge it for best climax

I was amazed when Hurley pulled his face off to reveal he was actually a skinny little alien.

I should have stayed in bed and enjoyed the extra few hours sleep.. Wasn't disappointed but was in no way amazed by it..

Put it this way.. few of us in work watch it, we came in this morning.. "see lost, what ya think?".. "Yeah grand"...

    Next conversation..

Bit of a let down tbh. 7/10

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,924 ✭✭✭✭RolandIRL

liked it. a bit disappointed but liked it. some people expect too much from the finale, like everything's going to be answered. where's the fun in knowing everything? the mystery is what makes it exciting.

When reading a mystery novel or watching a thriller do you stop reading before the last couple of chapters or switch off the TV for the last 15 mins.

I don't understand the acceptance by those that think this was an acceptable ending. I imagine the actors will be more than a little embarrassed especially Matthew Fox whose profile was seriously raised for a while.

It's clear to me that the producers, while lying about people guessing the ending, took viewers for a ride.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,924 ✭✭✭✭RolandIRL

could you have ended it any differently and better? [discuss in main episode thread, not here]

reminds me of the Dark Tower ending by Stephen King (of whom the writers are huge fans, as i am :D)

AFAIK there's only one ending to the series, but this discussion belongs in the Literature forum.

what DT books were you reading? maybe you were reading a parallel universe version of them :P

    BRAINS....BRAINS...

ah no the best bit had to be when Jack got a sex change from the aliens anal-probing him. :D

That was a good bit but they kinda rushed it, we'd only just discovered that the arcavarians are the enemies of the blognorfians and like straight away their trying to calcify Jack's larvae for the hive queen? Iunno....

I suppose it did resolve or at least make more interesting the love triangle between Jack(aleen) Kate and sawyer.

well i think tonights episode i feel like i have watching lost all these years a bit confused and dissapointed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,211 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

As a stand alone episode I thought it was quite good. As a series finale... it was pretty much what I was expecting, but not what I'd have been hoping for from the last ever episode of Lost back when I was really into it a few years ago.
