Emergency Tax Question

Right, so i started a new job recently, and was told that i'll probably be on emergency tax for my first month, as its apparently taking ages for P45's to be processed at the moment. I'm just trying to figure out how screwed i'm going to be next month, and to try and plan my spendings accordingly.

So, lets say i normally get €2100 a month, how much of that (roughly) will i lose on my first and only month on emergency tax? Also, now that my P45 has been handed in, will i automatically get it back next month?

Emergency tax is not too bad in the first month. You will pay €267.5 in PAYE this month. If your new employer is issued with a cumulative cert of credits and standard rate cut off then you will receive a refund in your next paycheque.

Do you have a tax credit certificate from your previous employer - if so give it to your new employers immediatley .

You could register for '' paye anytime '' and you should have new tax cert within 10 days .

If you give employer a P45 , surely you are not going to be on emergency tax

ring the tax office and give them your new employer number. they will update your credits and send the relevent info to your employer through ROS online.
once they recieve the updates from revenue they should be able to apply them to your next pay roll date.
