Looking to hire a Jaguar

    Hi there,

My friends are getting married and they'd like me to be the 'driver' for the day, driving the bride to the Church and then the Bride and Groom to the Reception. They've said they'd love to have a Jaguar.

Anyone know places that will hire me a Jaguar, preferrably in Dublin / Kildare / Wicklow? The only place I've seen so far that mentions a Jaguar is Hertz, but they seem to say that they can't guarantee that that's the car you'll get on the day.

    Any help appreciated, thanks!

    J.

Could you ask a local dealership? Like you're taking it for a weekend test drive... ;)

Speak to Spirit Motors (Jaguar Ireland).

I'm not sure if they rent vehicles, but you might be able to come to some arrangement with them. Probably best to turn up in person to ask as you'd sound like a bit of a chancer on the phone.

I drove myself to my wedding in an A8 4.2 quattro, and have an F10 5 Series booked for heading down the country to a wedding in a couple of weeks

Which cost more - the wedding or fuelling the Quattro?

I got married last summer and as I work for Jaguar Land Rover we had a Jaguar mkII as the wedding car and a Range Rover for the bridesmaids.

Got the Jag from this crowd:

Was lovely, would recommend them good service on the day.

^^This. Spirit Motors gave me an XF for the day last year because I said I was going to buy one. I just transferred over my insurance for the day and off I went. Went out to Avoca, Powerscourt, Dundrum Shopping Centre, etc. Great craic.
Just look respectable when you ask, obviously. No tracksuits or football shirts, etc.

Sounds like a good idea for the OP possibly.

But make it a new XJ as opposed to an XF, the new XJ looks superb :)

Back again, a few months later!

I've had a look at Cupid Cars, but the problem there is that I'm looking to have the car from Friday to Sunday and for me to drive it, and it looks like they give you a driver as well.

I will check out Spirit Motors though, thanks! Should I just contact them with regards to actually hiring a car from them, or should I go down the 'I'm thinking of buying one' route ( which I wouldn't really be that comfortable with ).

I'm not the greatest fan of most Irish dealerships, but I wouldn't feel right doing that.
