Former IE chief engineer gets €200k settlement

    Another sizeable payout from Iarnrod Eireann in an employment case. This involves the company's former chief civil engineer who was apparently threatened with dismissal after placing a speed restriction on the Dublin-Cork route that Dick Fearn didn't like:

    Incidentally, there is speculation that the settlement figure was higher than that published.

    Wow....This particular case was shaping up to be a real pot-boiler.

    It would appear that Ms Kelly has had her professional reputation vindicated here,something which I suspect was her main intent in bringing these proceedings.

    I wonder how long before the details leach out.....?
