This is a very basic question and I'm sure all the extremely technical people will have no bother with it :).

I have an 80gb Ipod (my second ipod) which I bought about 18 months ago. I have uploaded all my media files to itunes.

The question is, when i buy an ipod can i transfer my media files directly onto my iphone without having to upload all the files again.

When I changed ipods i can vaguely remember that i had to upload all the files again, I can't remember why but I can remember I was pissed about it :)

Either way i'll be getting an iphone anyway I just want to know can I save myself some time.

P.S. @ The Mods. I done a search for this and could not find it. If it does exist please give a link before the thread is closed, thanks.

Let me just make sure I have you correct:

When you say you uploaded your media to iTunes, you mean that you filled your iTunes library with all your songs / videos / etc, yeah? That's fine. Now it's on your iPod, yes?

If you got an iPhone, there should be no extra media to-ing and fro-ing :) Just sync your iPhone with your itunes library.

If you have an iPod and iPhone, you can sync both with iTunes. Both devices can get their content from the same iTunes library (your iTunes on your computer).

Thanks for the info people, got the iphone and it connected and used the same library as my ipod.

Delighted with the iphone, but disappointed that my ipod is now effectively redundant and so is my sat nav. I'm pretty sure as soon as I have a good look at the app store I will have some more redundant gadgets.

    Two questions:
    1. How do you get Newstalk Radio on the I phone?
    2. What is the best version of sat nav for the I phone?
