Hey all, I was wondering does anyone else have problems with overheating in there HTPC Setup in either a computer desk or a tv stand? I currently have a HTPC, laptop and PS3 all in close proximity to each other and I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation as to how to cool the whole thing down as summer comes the room does swelter.

Hmm, a few things that I can think of.

You could upgrade the fans in your PC. Even add a few extras in if there's space (sometimes there are spots for extras that aren't totally necessary). If it really came to it you could get watercooling which would be a bit more expensive. On the flip side though, it's both incredibly quiet and it cools far more than any fan could.

For the laptop you can get coolers that go underneath. I've never actually used one so I don't know if it docks or what but it would be handy as laptops often get mighty hot.

PS3s also have similar third party add on coolers that you can buy. Should be easy to find if you have one of the older kinds.

The biggest investment you could make but probably the most effective would be to buy a new unit to put them all on. If you buy a high quality one made specially for the purpose, it will usually eliminate any overheating problems.
