Fitness classes

I'm planning on starting fitness/boot camp classes in the Dublin area, but to be honest I know nothing about what's available or what to expect! The three websites I've been looking at are bootcampireland.com, militaryfitness.ie and crossfit.ie. Would anyone recommend one of these in particular (or any other classes), or are they all much the same?

Also, I'm pretty unfit at the moment. :o I'm not particularly overweight or anything, and I walk a good bit, but haven't been doing much exercise at all for the past few months. So I'll be looking for classes that are suitable for beginners!

    Thanks. :)

    i have done bootcamp ireland
Found it very good BUT hard. U need to commit to your self to attend twice a week for at least 4 weeks to get the hang of it. Your muscles will ache and at times you will think OMG what have i done but if you are serious about getting fit and dont mind rolling around in the mud / sand this one is for u. Check their face book pages and u will get a gist of what it is all about.

I also vote for Bootcamp Ireland!! I've been with them for about 3 months, and its fantastic!

There is nothing like it to get you outdoors running around a beautiful park - the staff are lovely and there is usually a really good atmosphere. Each class is different and you normally get a good mix between circuits, cardio and core work.

I've gone from someone who has never run a kilometer in her life to having just completed my first 8km run this week in a really good time! The enthusiasm the staff and the other members have is contagious - and there are loads of bootcamp events on such as hill running classes, weekends away, etc.

I think it's a great starting point for a life change, rather than just doing two 'standalone' classes per week, and it has loads of other benefits like the social aspect etc. However crossfit has also got good reviews on this forum, it really depends on what you want to get out of the classes I suppose!

I'm gonna buck the trend and recommend crossfit. If I lived near there I'd be a customer of theirs. One of the lads in our Muay Thai gym does it and highly recommends it.

I have followed crossfit myself before with very good success. I saw some good strength and fitness gains in a short period. I'd recommend going to the gym instead of trying to do it on your own though. Most people end up cherry picking a bit instead of following the prescribed workout of the day if they're not attending an actual crossfit gym.

    +1 on the crossfit.
The lads really know what they are doing.

You can expect them to push you within the bounds of your own capabilities.
Learn a whole bunch of new and fun exercises and encourage you to get stronger and better. You won't get bored, thats for sure.

    AKA mise:o

Defo head out to crossfit if you're near Sandyford chatterpillar, I checked it out last week and it's a great set up, far better option than the bootcamp imo.

P.s. Moonbaby, both crossfit Dublin and crossfit Ireland are out in Sandyford.
