    Hi All,

I was wondering does anyone know/can suggest a digital camera (compact, not SLR) which can be used as a webcam, with a fairly high resolution? Any suggestions?
Any also what cables I would need to go from the camera to the PC?

Why do you need a Hi-res webcam? Any usually compact digit cam can do this job as webcam softwares allowed.

Webcam may not be the correct description, sorry, for long distance bird watching thru a scope with the camera attached to the scope and the camera to a laptop where others may view the natural beauty without having to take turns looking in the scope,if that makes any sence...

Actually there are more ways to carry out this.
1., Like you wrote firstly a webcam, some have fairly big resolution, but I have check it out, as I'm not sure it's just at taken picture so high or it's have in webcam mode as well
2., A normal photo camera as webcam (my very old 2.1MPix know this function :) ) via USB
3., A (HD?) video camera (composite video or firewire(?) ) and a digitizer in your computer (this is the most expensive solution)

I just discovered on an another website that was my 2nd option, a Canon Powershot-S410 have remote capture over USB and high resolution 4MPix.
