Just set up the TV today and wanted to try out the integrated Freesat tuner.

Plugged in the cable directly from my Sky satellite dish but can't get a signal.

The TV has an integrated Freesat tuner.

    Any ideas/help please?

Have you checked on another receiver like an old sky box that the cables are working ?

I'm not familiar with this TV but can you select countries and regions from somewhere within the configuration menu. It could be that if a country other than the UK is selected freesat may be disabled .

If the country setting is Ireland try setting to UK. You'll also need to google a UK post code for the Freesat setup , I think English and Welsh postcodes will give you ITV 1 HD on the EPG.

I still have Sky+ box and it works fine with TV, so reckon the cables are ok. I just don't seem to be getting a signal from dish.

Very happy so far with TV. SD Sky+ channels look very good. Watched a bit of Kung Fu Panda on regular DVD and looked fantastic.

Happy enough with the sound also. Only got it today but first impressions are good. Waiting to see some sport on it.

Ordered from Sams Yer Man on Tuesday and delivered today - £595 + £20 delivery.

Freesat receivers appear to be a bit odd at times, has a similar problem with a Humax in the past.

See this thread, the OP never did post as to how the problem was resolved.

Magbe realign dish, adjust skew on LNB or try to setup in a friend house.

I set up with UK as country, entered a london postcode and everything is working perfectly.

    BBCHD and ITVHD are stunning.

    Thanks for the help. :)

The satellite tuner should also have worked in Ireland as a standard FTA satellite receiver, no postcode required but without MHEG text and guide.

The UK setting on Sony TVs disables the VHF tuner which which would be required if you receive analogue RTÉ 1&2 from a VHF transmitter - a problem that should be resolved once Saorview launches.

This could be a major stumbling block, no dtt here at present so RTE on VHF won't go with Freesat - the missus wouldn't be too happy, it must be simple!!- surely there must be a workaround for this??

Can anyone confirm that the FTA satellite tuner is available in the Ireland setting. The manual indicates it should be with DiSEqC, freesat only available with UK setting.

If it is use the Ireland setting, tune in the analogue and DTT test channels and use the onboard FTA satellite receiver to tune in the satellite channels and reorder the the way you want them.
